imageQUETTA: The leaders of political parties working in Balochistan have pinned hope on upcoming general election that they would bring peace and help in normalizing the situation.

In their separate statements issued here Monday they hope the elected representatives of the people would surely have the wisdom to check out the complex situation in the Balochistan province.

Former prime minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali commenting on a situation said: "The Election Commission of Pakistan headed by Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim will conduct free, fair and transparent elections and the voters would have to cast their votes for sincere and honest candidates".

He said that people of Jaffarabad are lucky as two prime ministers were taken from their region. He said that he was contesting elections for the welfare of people. He added conducting of general election would help in normalizing the law and order situation in the province.

Pakistan Muslim League-Q Balochistan president Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel said that he hope that masses would vote for his party. He said that general election 2013 would strengthen democracy and bring prosperity in Balochistan. He advised his party workers not to accept any pressure during the election campaign and continue their work for conducting of free-fair and transparent elections.

Nawab Aali Bugti, the chief of Bugti tribes and the grandson of late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti said that he decided to contest general election with his belief that Election Commission is a powerful institution that would ensure conducting of free, fair and transparent elections. He, however, alleged that some hindrances were put in the way of filing of his nomination papers.

Mir Sadiq Umrani, the president of Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Balochistan said that his party believes in democratic values and rule of law adding that general election 2013 would strengthen democracy and boost economy.

Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) leader Muhammad Raza Wakeel and Sardar Sahil Hazara said that conducting of general election would discourage non-democratic traditions and would bring downtrodden people into mainstream of the country.

Sardar Omar Gorgaij, senior PPP leader and former federal minister said that PPP-led government had executed record development works in Balochistan and masses would once again vote for PPP that always protected their rights and resolved their problems on priority basis.

Sardar Gorgaij who is also PPP candidate for NA-260 Quetta-Chagai seat said that general election provide a chance to voters to elect the right person who work for their betterment and development of their area.

Abdul Mateen Akhundzada, the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan and JI candidate for PB-16 Loralai seat said that voters would have to discourage and defeat the candidates who remained indulged in corruption of development funds and earned bad name.

He said that his party after coming in power would initiate ' accountability of looters of the national exchequer.
