sugar--NEW YORK: Raw sugar futures trading on ICE Futures US finished 2012 down 16.3 percent on Monday, the second straight year in negative territory, as ample supplies weighed on the market.

 

The benchmark March sugar futures contract finished the day up 0.09 cent, or 0.5 percent, at 19.51 cents per lb, after hitting a session high at 19.58 cents, a double top with the previous session's three-week high.

 

On the month, the spot contract settled up 0.9 percent. It finished the fourth quarter down a slight 0.4 percent, its third straight quarterly drop.
