imageDown 2-0 in the five match series against England, fast-bowler Mohammad Irfan, returns for ODI in the place of the injured Mohammad Hafeez, the pacer has expressed that he is confident of making a comeback when the team face off against the hosts in the third match in Nottingham on Tuesday.

“I am joining the team in good shape and I hope that I’ll be able to deliver wickets,” Irfan told to local media. “I’ve been working hard on my fitness and feel that my rhythm is back. The idea is to get early wickets which will put pressure on England as they are heavily dependent on their top order.

Irfan added that even when he was out of the side, the selectors were constantly in touch with him.

“The selectors were in touch regarding my form and fitness,” he said. “They told me that I was in their plans and that kept me motivated. It’s good when you know that you remain on the radar of the selection committee and I’ll try to help Pakistan in the next three matches.”

Earlier, Mohammad Hafeez will be replaced by Mohammad Irfan in Pakistan's squad for the remainder of their tour of England.

Pakistan is currently trailing England 2-0 in the ODI series and will need to win all of their games in order to secure the series. The third ODI is scheduled to take place on 30 August at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
