imageFormer Pakistan captain and the highest Test run-getter for the country Younis Khan have praised the ongoing boot camp under army trainers.

The players were undergoing strict military training where they had to complete one kilometer run within six minutes. The trainers gave the players a run for their lives as they were made to sweat at the scenic location, local media reported.

According to local media report, "When the camp was announced, I had a lot of worries and queries regarding the camp in Kakul," said Younis. “This is my third camp here but even then there were doubts in my mind.”

The veteran batsman claims he is more than happy with the results so far. “The way everyone has progressed over time is amazing and how the army has helped us is great,” he said. “We were thinking that we will be pushed to the limits and will be asked to do a lot of hard work. And while that did happen, it was done in a really good way.”

Younis also couldn’t hide his love for the army’s training regime. “I am a big fan now of the army’s fitness camp. I wish that I had trained with the army and their trainers during my youth as I would have been in better shape now.”

Pakistan will play England in four Tests, five ODI and a T20 International from July 14 till September 7.
