imageThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded at least 22 national women cricketers with Central Contracts for the ongoing year after the team’s impressive performances in the recent World T20 as well as for maintaining a decent record last year.

According to local media reports, “These contracts have been given to women cricketers for their outstanding performance and progress they have shown in domestic and international events throughout the year 2015,” said a PCB press release. The one-year contract is effective from January 1, 2016 and is divided into four categories (A, B, C & D).

Pakistan women’s team was widely praised for beating India in the recently concluded World T20. They also downed Bangladesh in the event but couldn’t find a place in the semi-finals after suffering losses to eventual World T20 champions West Indies and England in their group.

Reportedly, National team captain Sana Mir, all-rounder Bismah Maroof, right-hand batsman Javeria Wadood and bowling all-rounder Asmavia Iqbal Khokhar were given a place in category ‘A’.

All-rounder Nida Rashid Dar, slow left-arm orthodox bowler Anam Amin and right-hand batsman Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi were included in category ‘B’.

Sadia Yousaf, Sidra Nawaz, Rabiya Shah, Sidra Amin, Nahida Khan, Aliya Riaz, Iram Javed, Marina Iqbal, Sania Iqbal were include in category ‘C’, While in category ‘D’ Muneeba Ali Siddiqui, Almas Akram, Aiman Anwar, Diana Baig, Ayesha Zafar, Kainat Imtia are the new inclusions in the contract list.
