imageIn the ongoing Pakistan Cup 2016, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) beat Punjab side by a slender margin of 2 runs at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

After winning the toss, KPK captain Younis Khan opted to bat first; Openers Ahmed Shehzad (57) and Fakhar Zamaan (67) were top scorers from KPK side. Fakhar Zaman and Ahmed Shehzad provided a brilliant opening stand of 88 runs and both scored half centuries. However, Rameez Azeez (35) and Zohaib Khan made an important contribution of (51) runs and helped KPK in final phase of the innings to take the team total to 262/6 in fifty overs.

Punjab in reply, Salman Butt, who is looking to make his way back into the side, he played a blistering knock and scored 77 runs while Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Rizwan scored 47 runs each. Skipper Shoaib Malik scored 41 runs but he was not able to lead his team to victory.

Well, Punjab team required three off the last ball; Rahat bowled a perfect wide-yorker, beating Amad Butt’s edge and this how KPK won this game in a dramatically manner by 2 runs. However, Rahat Ali took 4 wickets and was consequently declared man of the match.
