Recently, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made some amendments in its structure and the team; they have elected a new captain for Pakistan’s national squad which became a point a critique for many. However, the players are supporting their new captain for an upcoming Bangladesh tour.
According to local media reports, Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Fawad Alam, who was not given a chance to showcase his skills in the 2015 World Cup, addressed a press conference on Wednesday saying that the new-face national team supports the new ODI captain Azhar Ali. “All the players support the new captain. A captain cannot do anything without players’ help and we are here to support him completely,” he said.
“It is like the whole team will make a comeback in the Bangladesh series and this is a prime opportunity for veterans such as Younus (Khan) and youngsters to perform,” he added.
Pakistani squad is currently training to perform in an upcoming Bangladesh series commencing from April 17. Pakistan will be playing with three captains now, including Azhar Ali (ODI), Misbah-ul-Haq (Test) and Shahid Afridi (T20).
