imageDefending champion India will clash with Pakistan on their opening match on February 15, 2015. Hosted by Australia and New Zealand ICC World Cup 2015 will start from February 14, 2015.

Placed in the relatively easy Group B, India, who won the 2011 event after defeating Sri Lanka in the final in Mumbai, will start their title defense on February 15. India has never lost to Pakistan in any of their five World Cup clashes so far.

Australia and New Zealand, whose prime ministers attended launches at simultaneous events in Melbourne and Wellington, are grouped with England, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Scotland. While, defending champions India is pooled with Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to ICC official website.

Two arch rivals will face each other on their opening match on February 15. Indian captain M.S Dhoni is very confident about their win and said, “I’m keenly looking forward to the tournament and confident that we’ll do well. Our recent victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 has provided the team with a lot of confidence, and I am sure this experience will help us in our preparations for the World Cup in 2015,” media reported.

After facing India, Pakistan will clash with West Indies on February 21 while India will clash with South Africa on February 22.
