TRIER: World champion Sebastien Ogier stayed on course for a comfortable Rally of Germany triumph on Saturday when he opened up a 33-second lead.
Ogier, who has won five of the season's eight races, led a Volkswagen sweep on Saturday with teammates Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen standing at 33.8sec and 1min 47.5sec behind respectively.
A win on Sunday would give Volkswagen their first win in Germany since their championship bow in 2013 despite having won every other round at least once.
"Last year we promised something to our boss and he reminded us," said double world champion Ogier.
