imageISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman has said the Prime Minister and Interior Minister have taken notice of recent terror incidents in Karachi.

Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the killing of Amjad Fareed Sabri he termed him as a national asset. Ajmad had spread message of Sufizim and had great love with the religion, he said in a PTV programme.

The minister said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah held a brief meeting with DG rangers and directed to take action against target killers.

When PML-N came into power, he said a number of target killing incidents were routine matters but decreased significantly due to the government's concrete steps.

He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had consulated all the political parties and stakeholders and launched Karachi operation and it was yielding desired results in elimination of target killers, street crime and extortionists from the mega city.

Karachi law and order situation was much better as compared to the past, he added.

He said terrorists were targeting those people who are living in the hearts of people.

The minister said National Action Plan (NAP) was implemented with devotion. Seminaries were registered and some 100 million SIMs were verified through bio metric system and several unregistered SIMs were blocked.

He said it is evident from the facts that terrorism incidents had declined significantly during the present government tenure.

Baligh ur Rehman said the enemies of Pakistan do not want to see economic stability, development, and prosperity in the country. Pakistan has signed different metropolitan welfare projects like China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) that would bring economic revolution in the country.

Replying to a question, he said federal government was not interfering in affairs of provinces without any reason.

Commenting on firing on Pak-Afghan border, he said the foreign office had played its due diplomatic role and efforts are on to secure the western border.
