ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday declared Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) candidate Jaam Maddad Ali as the winning candidate in Sindh Provincial Assembly PS-81.
The election matter was heard by a three-judge bench headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar challenging the Election Tribunal (ET) decision.
The seat was won by Functional League candidate Jaam Maddad in 2013 general elections, however the election tribunal declared Pakistan People Party candidate Asghar Junejo as winning candidate in recounting.
Challenging the decision of ET, Jaam Maddad Ali filed a petition in the Supreme Court and the court nullified the ET decision and declared Jaam Maddad Ali a winning candidate once again.
