ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah Tuesday said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) should be appointed as per the procedure defined in proposed electoral reforms.
Talking to the media here, he said the review of method of CEC appointment was also included in the electoral reforms. He had respect for judiciary and would accept the court verdict on the matter. He would also present the reasons in delay for appointment of the CEC before the apex court, he added.
Khursheed Shah demanded a judicial inquiry into the deaths occurred due to the stampede at the public meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Multan, which should fix whether the responsibility.
To a question, he said over 200 children were affected by polio disease during the current year, which was alarming.
