ISLAMABAD: The Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam, Maulana Fazalur Rahman has said that floods devastation in the country is so widespread that government can not solely cope the relief efforts and erged the Federal government to request for international assistance.
Maulana Fazalur Rahman expressed these remarks while presiding over the meeting of the core committee here Thursday.
He expressed shock over rains and floods in Punjab and parts of KPK. According to a press release, the JUI-F chief said that all segments of society should come forward and join hands for the rehabilitation of the affected people.
He said the nation should pray to Allah Almighty to help cope with the situation adding that his prayer and thoughts are with victims' families who have lost lives in floods.
The meeting also reiterated that JUI-F will stand with Parlaiment and constitution and and will not allow politics of "set ins" to determine the fate of a dually elected Parlaiment and the Prime Minister's office through force.
