ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate, Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has approved the soft launch of "Strategic Outlook and Work Plan of the Senate of Pakistan Administration".
Senate Secretariat under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Amjed Pervez Malik, has prepared this document with an aim to clearly spell out a roadmap along with a measurable set of targets, said a press release on Saturday.
This plan will ensure that parliamentary support services and staff are highly capable, professional and fully geared to assist Parliament and parliamentarians in performing their constitutional, legislative, oversight representation and outreach duties effectively.
The Plan in its entirely is an internal Senate-owned and driven initiative, spread on many months deliberations with all branches, with a focus on the present and future needs of the House and the Hon'ble Members, and drawing upon international best practices and modules.
Under the patronage and as per aspirations of the Hon'ble Chairman Senate, besides other much awaited initiatives, a legislative drafting service will also be established to cater the evolving needs of Members.
Roadmap has also been developed to improve physical infrastructure as well as enhanced physical and virtual interaction with media, civil society organizations, youth and general public.
This initiative is an idea subject to approval, changes, additions and alterations as and where deemed fit by the elected leadership and members.
