ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has all set to announce names of party's election candidates within a day or two as decision in this regard is almost final.
"We are heading positively to finalize the names of election candidates for National Assembly and provincial assemblies. Hopefully, it would be done within a couple of days," said party's Information Secretary Mushahidullah Khan.
According to another party leader, the list was being prepared under direct supervision of party chief Mian Nawaz Sharif. He had also reconstituted the Parliamentary Board recently for better screening of the applications.
The Parliamentary Board also met under the chair of Mian Nawaz Sharif at Lahore to accomplish the task of finalizing the election candidates.
The party leader said the Board had already finalize the candidates from three province but consensus is yet to be evolved on the candidates from Punjab.
The Board has already completed selection of the candidates on the reserved seats for women and minorities for National Assembly and the provincial assemblies.
He said the main issue was to satisfy the new comers aspiring to contest elections in the constituencies where the party had already potential candidates.
The PML-N has already been under pressure from within and outside the party for delaying the award of tickets on what the independent observers were also surprised at the hold-up.
