KARACHI: Four ships C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V ACX Crystal, C.V MSC Alessia and M.T Genuine Venus carrying containers and palm oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Containers Terminal berth # 5, 6 & 8 and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Monday.
Meanwhile two more ships C.V CMA CGM Racien and M.T FSL London with containers and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at forty three percent on Monday, where six ships namely, C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V ACX Crystal, C.V MSC Alessia, M.V Hyderabad, M.V Sino-6 and M.T Genuine Venus are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, coal, fertilizer and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 80,790 tonnes, comprises 56,508 tonnes imports and 34,282 tonnes exports inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,310 containers (TEUs) (2,032 imports and 1,278 exports TEUs) were handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Container Vessel "MSC Alessia' sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning while another containers ship 'Safmarine Ngami' is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships C.V CMA CGM Racine and C.V Northern Jaugor carrying containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, berth no. 6 and 8 respectively on Tuesday, while two more container ships 'CMA CGM Lamartine' and 'Maersk hartford' are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
