ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Pakistan Railways has demanded for the release of funds for the installation of close circuit television (CCTV) cameras at railways stations.
An official of Pakistan Railways while talking to APP, said, ministry had planned to install CCTV cameras at 12 railway stations across the country.
"The government was making all-out efforts to improve law and order; however, there was delay in execution of the project at the major railways Station due to financial constraints."
"The CCTV cameras will help railway security personnel in monitoring the movements of suspicious people, especially terrorists," he added.
The cameras would be connected to a computer room at the railway station that would also help the authorities take action against violators of the ban on smoking.
