KARACHI: In view of the forecast for more rains in the metropolis, the rain emergency would continue in District Municipal Corporation (DMC) South, Karachi.
This was announced by the Administrator of DMC South, Muhammad Naeem Sindhu, on Wednesday.
He also directed the officers concerned to ensure 100 percent attendance of the field staff.
After the rains in the city, the Administrator DMC south visited various areas and inspected the on-going work for draining out the accumulated water on the roads.
It was announced that an emergency centre has been set up at the head office of DMC South. Its telephone numbers are: 99211429 and 99211390. In case of any complaint, the people can establish contact on these numbers for the redressal of their grievances.
Auto workshop would also remain open round the clock for the repair and maintenance of the vehicles, it was further announced.
The Administrator further instructed that the dewatering pumps and other required machinery be kept in the working order. Effective steps be also taken for the immediate removal of fallen trees and signboards.
