KARACHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) has been awarded Associate membership by Chartered Accountants Worldwide.
An announcement here on Tuesday said that ICAP's joining the group of globally recognised Chartered Accountancy bodies as an associate member is a recognition of its excellence and commitment to providing services of the highest standards across the world.
President of ICAP, Hafiz Mohammad Yousaf, said "ICAP is delighted to join the community of over 340,000 Chartered Accountants. ICAP's vision is to be a globally recognised professional accountancy body, bringing value to its members, the profession and the wider community. Global coordination and joint initiatives are what will take the profession ahead; Chartered Accountants Worldwide is the perfect platform to achieve this goal and we look forward to promoting the brand in our part of the world."
Pat Costello, Chairman of Chartered Accountants Worldwide said "I am delighted to welcome ICAP to the Chartered Accountants Worldwide family. It was pointed out that ICAP is the second institute to join Chartered Accountants Worldwide as an Associate member, making a key contribution to the global expansion of the organisation. The rest of the Chartered Accountants Worldwide family are founder members; Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Chartered Accountants Ireland, ICAEW, ICAS and the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) who joined as an Associate in June 2015.
By joining the globally recognised Chartered Accountants Worldwide, ICAP will boost its international presence and have an opportunity to contribute to the further development of the profession. It will also open up access to events and networking opportunities for its members.
