RAWALPINDI: City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) Sunday urged the people not to throw shopping bags into Nullah Leh.
As in the past, flood wrecked havoc in Rawalpindi and precious lives and property of the people were perished away in the floods.
Managing Director Solid Waste Management, Irfan Qurashi asked the people not throw shopping bags and garbage as it was main hurdle in flow of water.
The cleanliness campaign had been geared up to save the people from possible flood.
However, the district government had completed all the arrangements to cope with the possible flood in the Nullah as the authorities had taken solid steps by taking preemptive measures.
Meanwhile, emergency service Rescue 1122 was fully equipped to cope with the possible flood in the Nullah during the monsoon season. According to Rescue 1122, the rescue staff would be on standby to provide timely emergency response, medical treatment and transportation facilities to possible flood victims in low-lying areas.
The Rescue 1122 requested people not to stand on the banks of low-lying areas along Leh Nullah during flood and follow instructions given by the flood control room.
