LAHORE: CIA Police claimed to have arrested three dacoits who had looted cash of Rs. 1,000,000 from a family returning from London and also recovered the amount.
This was stated by Commissioner Overseas Commission Afzal Bhatti while addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
Director Police Overseas Commission Capt (r) Syed Ahmad Mobeen and DG overseas Commission Khawaja Daood were also present.
Giving details, Afzal Bhatti said that Salahuddin and his father Ch Abdul Aziz came out from National Saving Centre after drawing the cash on March 18 when armed motorcyclists intercepted them and looted the cash at gun point.
After taking the notice of the incident, the CCPO Lahore constituted a special police team under the supervision of Umer Virk which succeeded in arresting the accused persons and recovered the looted money.
Answering the question, he said that Overseas Commission had received about 175 complaints of overseas Pakistani and in which 61 complaints had been resolved.
Another question, he said that internship would be conducted to students of university on airports of Lahore, Sialkot and Multan. They will provide help and possible guidence to overseas Pakistanis and their families on these airports, he added.
