LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said the Punjab government had taken immediate and timely measures with the cooperation of concerned institutions under the National Action Plan for the eradication of terrorism.
Adressing a press conference, here, he said elimination of terrorism was imperative for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan as well as maintaining peace in the country.
He said Anti Terrorism Force was being equipped with helicopter and modern weapons, adding, the Intelligence Wing would also be strengthened by providing latest equipments.
The Punjab Chief Minister said terrorism could not be rooted out overnight adding "We have to fight terrorism with patience".
He said the provincial government had taken serious notice of wall chalking by Daish in Punjab.
He said there was a complete consensus between federal government and all provinces to win war against terrorism adding that victory was the only option in this war which would be won at any cost for the survival of the country.
He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz sharif had firm resolve to root out terrorism from the country permanently.
