KARACHI: Sindh Police under its series of an ongoing extensive anti-terrorism training program on Thursday initiated a phase of "Post Blast Investigation."
Under the post blast investigation course cops are being provided hands-on training involving vehicles as pick-up, taxi, motor-cycles and so-forth, subjected to experimental explosion.
In one of the such exercise held at Police Training Centre, Saidabad, this morning, 35 officials pertaining to bomb disposal squad and investigation unit learned about modern investigative techniques consequent to explosions
This hands-on exercise is part of the three day training, that would be regularly followed by refresher sessions, said a police department spokesman.
During the training course they are also taught about emerging variety of explosions, usually used by anti-state elements, modes adopted for carrying out such explosions and techniques to prevent as well as manage such situations.
The trainees will also be required to demonstrate their skills regarding evidence collection from the site of mock explosion followed by presentation of their respective report before the senior officials in a session at Central Police Office.
Around 350 police officers, pertaining to bomb disposal squad and investigation units respectively have till date successfully completed different phases of training extremely crucial in the given situation across the country.
The spokesman mentioned that measures to inculcate skills prerequisite to counter-terrorism and insurgency are also part of the training being imparted among the cops in the province.
These were said to be on special directives of the Inspector General of Police for Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali who has taken upon himself to ensure safety of precious human lives with equal attention to avert unfortunate instances.
