KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Sunday claimed to have arrested four members of Lyari gang war, while two criminals were also killed in an alleged encounter with them.
Rangers spokesperson said that rangers personnel conducted intelligence based targeted operation against gangsters of Lyari gang war in Mushraf Colony and Rangiwara, Lyari.
He said that during the operation, four criminals were arrested, while two notorious gangsters Aziz alias Chwani, and Zakir alias David, were killed after an exchange of fire with rangers in Rangiwara, however, one of their accomplice also arrested.
He said that the killed gangsters were affiliated with Mullah Nasir of Uzair Baloch group of Lyari gang war. He said that they were involved in various target killings, kidnapping, extortions and other crimes.
The weapons were also recovered from the possession of the arrested and deceased gangsters, said spokesman. He said that the arrested gangsters were shifted to an undisclosed place for interrogation. Further investigation was underway.
