EU delegation calls on CM Sindh
KARACHI: Head of European Union delegation, Ambassador Lars Gunner called on Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, at the CM House here on Saturday.
Principal Secretary to CM, Muhammad Siddique Memon, and Director General Protocol, Mr. Dabeer, were also present, says a CM House statement.
The Chief Minister Sindh welcomed the Head of European Union delegation and briefed about five year's performance, activities and achievements made in various sectors particularly in the field of health, education , communication, agriculture, socioeconomic betterment, employment, youth development and empowerment of women in various aspects.
He said that the present elected government is completing its constitutional tenure and the general elections would be held on schedule. Earlier, Mr. Lars Gunner thanked the Chief Minister Sindh for the warm welcome and highlighted the role of European Union for the betterment of people of Pakistan.
He said that European Union will support the Government of Sindh for promotion of Education, and code of conduct for media as well as in economic reforms.
Lars Gunner assured that the EU will extend aid and trade, while the ban on fisheries will be positively considered. He also assured that EU will fully support issues pertaining to alternate energy and technical education.
Syed Qaim Ali Shah thanked European Union for extending support for various sectors particularly in the education sector.
