ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said Friday that Islamabad Export Processing Zone would be established soon to facilitate investors, bring in new technology and know-how, and attracts foreign investment into the country.
He was talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce (ICCI) led by its Executive Member and Former President, Munawar Mughal here.
Elahi said that the business community has always played a significant role in progress and prosperity of the country adding various gas industrial estates and export processing zones were working efficiently which were established during their tenure.
According to ICCI press statement, the Deputy Prime Minister decided to call a meeting of all stakeholders and business leaders in which various core issues would be discussed.
He assured that all the problems of trade and industry would be solved on priority.
Speaking on the occasion, Munawar Mughal, said that the government should reshape its policy of power load-shedding and provide a chance to industry to flourish as local industrial units are running far below the required level due to growing power outages.
He also emphasized upon establishing Islamabad export processing zone so that the country's exports could be increased, which would enhance foreign exchange.
The other delegation members included, Tariq Sadiq, Mian Akhram Farid, Abdul Rauf, Khalid Javaid, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Zafar Bhaktawai, Chaudary Khalid Mehmood and Muzammal Sabari.
