LAHORE: The Punjab Agriculture Department has advised the farmers that paddy can also be cultivated by sprinkling the seeds instead of cultivating it in nursery.
A spokesman of the department said on Saturday, that this method of cultivation is good for proper growth of the crop.
He said that land should be properly prepared and levelled before opting this method.
The use of 12 Kg seed on per acre for basmati variety and 15 Kg for other variety is sufficient for cultivation, he added.
He said that watering the field slightly after 5 days of sowing and ensure that water was not stayed in the field as it would affect the growth.
