imagePESHAWAR: Provincial President, Awami National Party (ANP) and Member National Assembly (MNA), Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said Friday the extended month long sit ins of Tahrik-e-Insaf and Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf, was in fact hampering economic growth and foreign investment in the country.

The month long protest sit ins in Islamabad by PTI and PAT were not only inflecting great losses to the national economy besides hampering foreign investment but also are passing a very negative massage to the world, said Hoti while addressing a lunch function hosted in his honour b Dr Yousaf Yousafzai in Mardan district.

He said his party strongly supported democracy and constitution and desired that the present elected Governments in Centre and provinces complete its tenure.

The ANP leader said the Parliament extended full support to the Federal Govt in the present political impasse and all the democratic forces except PTI are standing behind the Prime Minister over the issue of resignation.

The demand of resignation from the Prime Minister by Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri was rejected by all the democratic forces in the parliament, he said, adding if the trend of taking resignation from PM through sit ins of few thousands' people in Islamabad was once set, then no PM and Govt in future will complete its tenure and political instability will start prevail.

The people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa had given mandate to Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf and are now looking towards PTI for solutions of their problems, he said, adding democracy was the best system in which people's problems solved at their doorsteps.

Those, who were voted to power, on slogans of "new Pakistan and Change" in KP in last general elections, had forgotten their promises made with electorates and are now making hue and cry on the name of alleged rigging in order to divert attention of masses from real issues. Hoti said PTI and PAT sit ins in Islamabad in last one month had passed a very wrong message to world about our country.

Except PTI, he said all the political forces in the Parliament were standby with democracy and termed the demand of PM's resignation was unconstitutional and illegal.

He said that all the political parties should respect each others mandate and urged PTI and PAT to sit together with Govt and solved problems through table talks. Also, he suggested the Govt to show flexibility during talks. He feared that a third force can take advantage of the present situation if PML-N and PTI did not show flexibility.
