The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have drastically increased over the weekend with the country reporting 193 confirmed cases on Tuesday.

In Sindh, the number of cases rose to 155 after five more cases were reported in the province on Tuesday. In a tweet, Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab said that in Sindh, 36 cases have been tested positive for the virus, while 119 pilgrims from Iran quarantined in Sukkur have been tested positive for the disease.

The cases in Lahore increased to six after Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid announced the confirmed cases in DG in a presser.

Meanwhile, there are 15  cases of the corona in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five in Gilgit-Baltistan, two in Islamabad and 10 in Balochistan.

The government awaits the results of several people who were tested for the disease.

Meanwhile, World Health Organization called on all countries to ramp up their testing programmes. “We have a simple message to all countries – test, test, test," WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a news conference in Geneva.
