At the end of April In the last year 2019, according to abdication by previous Emperor Akihito, from May 1st in 2019, previous Crown Prince Naruhito took the throne, and new era "Reiwa" had started in Japan. The current our Emperor Naruhito is the number 126's Emperor in Japan, and there is an unbroken lines of Emperors and there is traditional strong connection between the Emperor at the center of the nation and the people in Japan.
New Imperial era "Reiwa" was taken from a verse in the Japanese oldest anthology of poem from the 8th century called "Manyo-shu", which literally mean a collection of ten thousand of leaves. The collection includes not only poems read by nobles, but ones by people of lower class such as farmers and warriors. The verse is preface to 32 poems read at plum flower viewing party in year 730.
The literal meaning of "Reiwa" is auspicious harmony.
And our Prime Minister Mr. Abe explained its meaning as below, so that it will be understandable more concretely;
Like the flowers of the plum tree blooming proudly in spring after the cold winter, we wish the Japanese people to bloom like individual flowers with the ?promise of the? future. With such a wish for Japan, we decided upon 'Reiwa.
Now we are really delighted to celebrate, from the bottom of our heart, the 60th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito on February 23rd as our Emperor's first birthday in the era of "Reiwa". I believe that new era will be new dawn for our contemporary Japan and Pakistan.
Now the world is changing by very high speed in the many field and aspect toward next generation. And we also must devote our continuous effort to the development for our good relationship between two countries and prosper together everlastingly.
We really hope that our peaceful world and life will continue forever and we have an immense possibility to build our even better future like verdurous world.
