ISLAMABAD: Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan Thursday said the government has presented a balanced and best budget in prevailing economic conditions, covering all basic demands of common man and business community.

Participating in the budget discussion in the National Assembly, he said the present government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will ease the sufferings of the poor people.

He said a commission has been constituted to find out the reasons behind mega loans from international financial institutions and their utilization by previous regimes.

He questioned why foreign reserves reached at Rs10 billion from Rs18 billion. He added past government of PML-N destroyed all major state organizations including PIA and Pakistan Steel Mills but flourished their own business of Ittefaq Foundry and steel mills.

He said Pakistan Steel Mill has been facing a loss of Rs 470 billion while Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has been facing a loss of Rs416 billion while the past government left only 33 planes, out of which 13 were in government property while rest were on lease while four planes were on ground.

He said not only in the country they established their business abroad as well from the looted money.

He said due to sacrifices of Pakistan Army, the government has successfully controlled terrorism despite facing heavy financial loss and loss of precious lives in various incidents of terrorism. He added now the law and order situation is totally under control.

He said it is the right of people to know why their money was used in failed projects by past government like Metro Lahore, Islamabad and Multan besides motorways and underpasses as they looted the country’s money and awarded contracts to their favourite companies.

He said there were shares of Hamza Shehbaz in such companies.  He said Rs 4 billion was looted in the name of Ashiana scheme also.

He said the production orders of two parliamentarians are issued but why such people are awarded production orders and allowed them to enter in this sacred house, he questioned.
