Ride-hailing service Uber has proved itself to be one of the most valuable ones, but its CEO claims it wants to expand it to such an extent that it becomes ‘Amazon and Google of transportation’.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi earlier claimed that he wanted to make his company the ‘Amazon of transportation’ with its e-scooters and e-bikers. Now he has added to being the ‘Google of transportation’ too as parts of his goals for Uber.

At its recently held Uber Elevate Summit, Khosrowshahi talked about how Uber is not obnly limited to being a ride-hailing service, but has now much more options, including upcoming Uber Copter for helicopter rides to the airport, and Uber Eats that will deliver food through drones.

Uber to soon start delivering fast food through drones

Also, Uber soon plans to bring back the self-driving car and starting next year, Khosrowshahi said that they wanted to take the transportation grid into the ‘third dimension’, as reported by Mashable.

This refers to Uber’s newest project, Uber Air, which is the flying taxi network that will initiate its triats next year. The electric passenger drones are planned to start flying passengers on short-distance commutes, about 1,000ft in air at speeds up to 150mph by the year 2023.

With these upcoming new additions, Khosrowoshahi believes Uber will become as omnipresent as Google search. “We don’t just want to be the Amazon of transportation, but also the Google of transportation.

“We want to be your everyday use case when you wake up and you go to work, or you go out to eat or you go see a friend, we want to be there,” he asserted.

Moreover, at the summit, Uber also revealed new version of its scooters with bigger frame, larger wheels, and improved brakes, which will arrive in the US by this month’s end.
