Rumoured celebrity couple Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra, who are currently basking the success of their previous release ‘Kapoor & Sons’ will again romance on-screen in an intense drama ‘Aashiqui 3’, a sequel to 2013 hit ‘Aashiqui 2’.
Actor Sidharth Malhotra and producer Mukesh Bhatt has confirmed the news to the Indian media.
“Yes, it is true. We have signed Sidharth and Alia for the film. They completely fit the role. When we make films we look for the perfect casting. They both fit the bill,” Bhatt told an Indian news portal. While, Sidharth said, “Yes, Alia and I are doing 'Aashiqui 3'. It's a great space and I hope people like us”.
The film was first offered to Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor. However, since both the actors didn't want to do that project, the producers cast Alia and Sidharth. Also, Sidharth may even sing in the film.
‘Aashiqui’ released in 1990 starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. Aashiqui 2, directed by Mohit Suri, starred Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, and released in 2013. Mohit Suri will direct Aashiqui 3 as well.
