Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering sending the national team to England two weeks prior to the official tour date, media reported on Thursday.
According to local media reports, the board initially rejected the proposal to send the team early to England, to allow the team adjusts to England’s conditions. However, Pakistan cricket chief selector Inzamam ul Haq and Coach Mickey Arthur intervened into the matter and the PCB is now giving serious consideration to the idea, despite being an expensive exercise.
Inzamam is also likely to travel England to help out the players. “The chief selector is responsive to the idea of going to England to watch the camp since Pakistan A team and Pakistan women’s team are also scheduled to play there this summer,” the official said, in a local media report.
The camp will start from June 16 in Hampshire County and may continue for two weeks. The final approval for the camp will be given by PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan.
Pakistan team will play four test matches, five ODIs and one T-20 from July to September against England.
