imageFormer Pakistan captain Inzamam ul Haq has joined to become temporary coach of the Afghanistan cricket team.

According to media reports, Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), which had roped in former Pakistan players such as Kabir Khan and Rashid Latif for the coaching role in the past, was eager to acquire Inzamam's services since the last two years.

Inzamam said, "I have accepted the role of Afghanistan team coach only for the tour of Zimbabwe. It will be exciting and I would love to put their enormous passion on the right track”.

Inzamam is the third Pakistani cricketer to coach Afghanistan after Rashid Latif and Kabir Khan. He was the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team from 2003–07 and is considered to be one of the best leaders in Pakistan Cricket history.

After Javed Miandad, Inzamam ul Haq is widely regarded as one of the greatest Pakistani batsmen ever. He is the leading run scorer for Pakistan in One-Day Cricket and second-highest run scorer for Pakistan in Test cricket.
