Only after 9 Tests played, Pakistani leg spinner Yasir Shah has broken into the top 10 of the ICC Test bowling rankings.
He’s 9th with career best 750 points. Yasir Shah due to his magical performance has emerged to his career best position, despite of a defeat. Bowler Yasir Shah helped Pakistan to secure stunning victory over Sri Lanka in the first test match in Galle when he took 7 wickets in the second innings of Sri Lanka.
Yasir Shah also took 6 wickets in the first innings of second Test match between the two teams in Colombo. He turned the ball like Shane Warne used to do. Australian legend Warne also tweeted after watching Shah bowl, “I like the look of this leggie Yasir Shah, plenty of energy and nice variations of pace”.
As per local media reports, in reply to the great Shane Warne, Yasir Shah said, “His words actually put me under pressure to live up to his appreciation and it has been good so far. The focus remains on bowling a good line and length and control my variations. One needs to be patient in Test cricket and that is what I am trying to do”.
He also became the first Pakistani to complete his 50 wickets in the Test cricket in just 9 matches leaving behind legendary Waqar Younis and Muhammad Asif.
