Pakistan former Captain Wasim Akram, declared himself available to coach Pakistan if he is contacted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“I don’t even care if they give me a good offer or not,” said Wasim, while talking to the local media. “I’ll come whenever the PCB asks me but first they need to ask me; if they don’t, how can I help?”
He came to Lahore to watch the second One-Day International (ODI). He said watching the passion of the fans at Gaddafi Stadium reminded him of his playing days. Pakistan has successfully won the series on its home ground against Zimbabwe after six long years.
He tweeted, “I'm so impressed by my home country. I'm at Gaddafi stadium for the first time in a long time. Welcome Zimbabwe!”.
Wasim Akram praised Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for making the series possible, the first in Pakistan since terrorists’ attacks on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in March 2009.
Wasim Akram played 104 Tests and 356 One-Day Internationals for Pakistan between 1984 -2003. He said, “You can’t keep cricket away from Pakistan because the amount of passion and the amount of talent here.”
