Newlywed Human rights lawyers Amal Alamuddin picks ‘Clooney’ from her husband’s name. Post exclusive Italian wedding, Alamuddin took her husband’s last name atleast for the professional purpose and is now called as ‘Amal Clooney’ on her company’s website.
It was previously reported that she had changed her name to ‘Amal Alamuddin Clooney’ but now it has been revealed that she has dropped her maiden name. It is said that Amal change of surname has gathered some criticism from feminists. Some feel that a woman should not necessarily drop her maiden name just to pick up the last name of her husband, media reported.
Alamuddin and Clooney marked their nuptials with family and friends, including Matt Damon, Bill Murray John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, with a lavish, days-long celebration in Venice. The newlyweds capped things off with a 12-minute civil ceremony on September 27, 2014.
