According to the Times of India Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui may step into Farhan Akhtar’s shoes for Rahul Dholakia’s upcoming ‘Raees’.
Akhtar, who was supposed to play the role of a police inspector in the film, opted out of the project after its schedule got postponed due to Shah Rukh Khan’s injury on the sets of ‘Happy New Year’.
"With Shah Rukh's injuries, the shoot of "Raees" got pushed forward. Zoya's (Akhtar) "Dil Dhadakne Do" also got delayed and eventually Farhan's dates for "Raees" were clashing with those that he had allotted to Bijoy Nambiar's film for Vinod Chopra. Farhan eventually realised that he would have to let this film go as he didn't want to delay the project any further. If all goes well, "Raees" should now roll post monsoon," a source close to the production team told the Times of India.
Now reports reveal the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ star is in talks with Excel Entertainment to don the role, which reportedly requires high acting skills.
