Mizmaar guitarist and composer Kashan Admani has brought together 40 musicians from seven countries to create a collaborative anthem titled 'We Are One / Aae Khuda', a hopeful prayer dedicated to victims and survivors of recent tragedies around the world

How did Kashan Admani manage to bring so many musicians together? With orders to stay at home in the midst of a global pandemic, it wasn't hard.

“Artists are difficult to control and contain. Even if you put them in a box, they will manage to make their presence outside of it,” Kashan said, wanting to create "a song that would be a united prayer, featuring singers and musicians from across the world."

Grammy Award-winning violinist Charlie Bisharat, Grammy nominee and drumming maestro Simon Philips joined in for prayer, as well as legendary bassist Stuart Hamm, percussionist Gumbi Ortiz and drummer Taylor Simpson, all from the US.

“Simon is a friend and he also visited Karachi last year to give his masterclasses. Charlie was very kind, and he loved the song. Luckily all my friends in Pakistan were also eager to participate because the project paints a very positive image of our country,” Admani said.

Plus, he brought onboard Pakistani artists such as Faakhir, Omran Shafique, Najam Sheraz, Natasha Baig, Farhad Humayun (Overload), Maha Ali Kazmi, Raafay Israr, Farooq Ahmed (Aaroh), Ali Khan, Dino Ali, Khaled Anam and lots of others.

The song officially released on Thursday, after a delay out of respect for victims of the PIA flight PK-8303 plane crash last week.
