ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday said restoration of complete law and order and protection of lives and property of citizens in the metropolitan city of Karachi was the priority of the government and no comprise would be made in this regard.
He directed that all law violators be brought to book regardless of any consideration for their affiliations, if any.
This he said during meeting with a delegation comprising of Sindh Cabinet members here at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The delegation included Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Agha Siraj Khan Durrani, Nawabzada Mir Nadir Ali Khan Magsi,
Syed Murad Ali Shah, Jam Saifullah Khan Dharejo, Jam Mehtab Hussain
Dahar and Shazia Marri. Nisar Ahmed Khuro, Syed Khursheed Shah, Mir Hazar Khan
Bijarani, Islam-ud-Din Sheikh, Nawab Ali Wasan, Mir Ijaz Hussain
Jakhrani and Gul Muhammad Jakhrani were also present during the
meeting.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah briefed the President about efforts underway to control law and order situation in Lyari.
The President reiterated his call that the situation in Lyari needs to be tackled both by use of force against the miscreants and through political means.
He said that effective redressal of the genuine problems of development was also important to bring law and order under control.
The President also emphasized upon the need for all the political forces to join hands against criminals for restoring complete law and order in the metropolis.
Chief Minister Sindh also briefed the President about ongoing developmental projects in Sindh especially in Karachi.
The President advised the provincial ministers to reach out to the people and help in redressal of their issues.
The President also hosted lunch for the participants of the meeting.
