imageISLAMABAD: Dr Fouzia Siddiqui, the sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui called on Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here Saturday.

During the meeting, Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui presented various facts relating to incarceration of Dr Aafia Siddiqui in United States for the last several years.

She narrated the efforts made by the previous governments to get her release from the prison, which failed to prove fruitful results.

She requested the minister for renewed efforts to secure the release and repatriation of Dr Aafia Siddiqui from USA to Pakistan.

The minister recalled that he was the first parliamentarian, who raised voice in the National Assembly for release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui and called her "Daughter of Pakistan."

Nisar said that he would call a special meeting on this issue and assured Dr. Fouzia Siddiqui of all possible support and efforts of his government in securing the early release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
