SHANGHAI: Chinese shares were down 0.27 percent in early trade Wednesday as worries over the weakening domestic economy and declining corporate earnings continued to weigh on sentiment, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers A and B shares, slipped 5.79 points to 2,155.40.
China said last week its economic growth slowed to 7.6 percent year-on-year in the second quarter, its lowest level in more than three years.
