SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday said the government had focused its attention on improving economic condition of the country.
He said the PML-N was preparing a strategy to ensure inexpensive and speedy justice to people in the country.
Addressing public meetings in different areas of Narowal, he said Panchayat system would be introduced at village level in the country for resolving disputes at local level and Panchayat committees would be consisted of well reputed and honest people.
The minister said "We are working day and night to overcome the financial crisis and to cope with the menace of terrorism on top priority, he said.
The minister underscored the need of collective efforts to bring the country out of multiple problems and urged political parties to join hands for making the country economically vibrant and strong.
Ahsan Iqbal assured people that development process would be doubled in Narowal district and it would make a model district in the country. Special attention would be accorded on promotion and expansion of education in every nook and canner of the district, he said.
On this occasion, the federal minister strongly condemned the killing of foreign tourists and termed it was a shameful act against mankind. The minister said anti-state elements were trying to sabotage peace, adding that such conspiracies would be foiled with an active support of the people.
"We are trying to develop rail and road link with China aimed at accelerating trade activities between the friendly countries," he said.
Member Punjab Assembly (MPA) Khawaja Muhammad Waseem Bhutt also spoke and highlighted problems of people of Narowal.
