LAHORE: Punjab Provincial Cooperative Bank has accomplished recovery of Rs.1515.81 million Non Performing Loans (NPLs).
Of the aforementioned sum Rs.1262.24 million have been recovered in cash whereas property of defaulters amounting to Rs. 253.51 million was transferred in the name of bank.
According to a press release on Tuesday, it was stated during a briefing that the bank was giving Kharif-2012 crop loans to small farmers through cooperative societies till July 31,to the tune of Rs.2500 million.
Acting President PPCBL, Muhammad Ayub and other senior officers were present during the briefing.
The meeting was apprised that restructuring of the bank was under way and e-mail/internet facilities were being provided at all the branches.
Registrar Cooperatives Punjab, Sheryar Sultan directed the officers to accelerate recovery of bank's loans, particularly NPLs,and achieve the "target" of disbursement of Kharif-2012 crop loans.
