Wearable tech accessories like the Apple Watch are now capturing the mainstream and the public is slowly catching on. The latest addition to such invention is ‘Neyya’s smart ring’ which can control your phone, tablets, laptop and TV as well.
According to Wareable.com, The stainless steel smart ring, which comes in titanium and gold-plated models, lets you tap and swipe across the capacitive surface on top of the black, polycarbonate stone area. The idea is that you can remote control presentations, music tracks on your smartphone or even your GoPro with one thumb. Neyya is already compatible with iOS, OS X, Windows 8.1, Roku smart TV boxes and GoPro cameras with more device integrations promised soon.
The ring however is not as smart as it has been targeted. It won’t notify you of your emails nor allows you to buy stuff online, it more like a remote control. This is, essentially, a piece of jewellery aimed at executives who can’t be arsed to reach out and tap the left button on their mouse. Other uses for the ring include the ability to take a selfie on your smartphone.
