LONDON: The Australian dollar extended falls against the US dollar on Tuesday, losing two percent on the day, while the Swiss franc gained as fears about a nuclear crisis in Japan drove investors to slash exposure to risk.
The Australian dollar fell to a six-week low of $0.9877.
