Alia Bhatt’s role in her upcoming movie ‘Udta Punjab’ has become one of the ‘most talked about’ topic in a certain community which she has been portraying in the movie. After facing severe criticisms for using abusive language and de-glitz look, Alia finally opens up about the ongoing controversy.
Alia said, “Don’t you abuse in real life too? So do I… The abuses are in a Bihari tone as the character is Bihari. We have to portray the character according to the script,” Indian media reported.
“If the character is angry or upset or distraught, Alia doesn't have anything to do with it. It is the character. So when I am doing anything whether it is dancing crying or abusing or jumping or anything, I am doing it as the character. I may not necessarily feeling like that at that time but I am doing it because that is the way it is in the film, in the script,” she added.
‘Shandaar’ actress also said that she is comfortable abusing on-screen if the character demands.
Alia is playing a bihari migrant role in the film ‘Udta Punjab’, while other leads including Shahid Kapoor plays a rockstar, Kareena Kapoor can be seen as a doctor and Diljit Dosanjh will play a cop in the movie.
The movie will hit theatres on June 17.
