Bollywood versatile writer/poet Gulzar wrote a life history of famous poet ‘Ghalib’ which has been published in Pakistan.
Gulzar wrote poetry, dialogues and scripts. He is a prominent writer of fiction and the director of some memorable movies. He was awarded ‘Padma Bhushan’ the third-highest civilian award in India. He started his career as a songwriter with the music director Sachin Dev Bhurman for the movie ‘Bandini’ in (1963).
According to media reports, Gulzar's novelette ‘Ghalib’ has been published in Pakistan, which tells the life history of the all-time great poet. The book, which is the script of his unforgettable TV serial starring Naseeruddin Shah, was published in Urdu and Hindi by Rupa Publications in India and earlier this month by the leading publisher of Urdu books in Pakistan, Maktaye Danial, Karachi, had earlier published three collections of Gulzar’s poems, media reported.
Recently, the versatile actor Naseeruddin Shah lent authenticity to the role of ‘Mirza Ghalib’ on a private channel of Pakistan.
Danial has its credit publications of such leading figures as Faiz, Sibte Hasan, Quratulain Hyder, Kaifi Azmi, Mushtaq Yusufi and Javed Akhtar, to name a few progressive poets and writers.
