computer2-1024ISLAMABAD, April 20 (APP): Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is expecting to achieve target of $ 6 billion from Pakistan software exports probably before 2020.

Ministry of IT and Telecom has taken many solid steps and introduced new initiatives to achieve the target and plan to establish seven incubation centers through out the country was also part of these policy measures.

These centers were meant for the practical training of the young IT graduates/startups to transform them into a successful entrepreneurs. The process for establishment of these centers has already been initiated.

More than 30 consortia comprising over one hundred companies have submitted their bid proposals for four new incubation centers which were being evaluated on technical basis, an official told APP.

Ministry's spokesperson stated that the proposals for speeding up the process were being scrutinized.

It's expected that the two-leveled scrutiny would consist of shortlisting of all of the consortiums that meet the already established criteria for the tech that's needed in the incubation centers, and then financial bids would be considered subsequently.

The Spokesman expected that short-listed bidders on (technical basis) would be announced by first week of May this year.

These seven incubation centres would also include three specialized incubation centers, which would be the Internet of Things, Fin-Tech, and Rebotics.

The first National incubation centres has already been set up back in February, in public private partnership with JAZZ and around 40 startups have been accommodated there so for.

He expected that several batches of start ups will be nurtured on similar pattern on yearly basis.

Pakistan's ICT sector has sky rocketed and witnessed exponential growth during Current era Broadband ratio has grown from less than 3% to 27% within merely two years.

Anusha Rehman has got multiple international recognition for her dynamic and successful policy initiatives and many regional entities are enviously looking at Pakistan's ICT Model.

These initiatives will create job opportunities, with options like self-employment on one hand while providing boost to IT related exports on the other.

These ICT initiatives will play a pivotal role in further development of ICT sector.

The ultimate goal here was to create a better future for the young students and to provide them as many opportunities as possible, the spokesman said.
